You have probably all had a well intentioned Aunty or Uncle tell you if you want to meet someone why not sign up for a cooking class or a salsa class, as that's how they met Uncle Bob or Aunty Mildred.

Well at the WEA that's not the only reason why you should have a look at the courses on offer. If you have ever had one of those conversations with friends at the pub about wanting to be able to service your own car or to get back into painting again, well it has all just come true with WEA. All interests are covered whether that be a practical course like woodwork, photography or interior design. A fitness course like kick boxing, yoga or tap dancing through to business and language courses and that is just skimming the surface. They even run courses in the science, art and mystery of embalming and dream analysis.

Classes run from 1 evening to 1 year and the price of courses are very reasonable starting at $30 for a 1 night course through to a couple of hundred dollars for 1 year. Discounts apply for students and concession card holders. Classes run 7 days a week with most of the classes run in the city. The centre just underwent renovations and they have a dedicated music room and dance studio, well equipped classrooms for computer courses and a student lounge to meet with friends before your class. Cooking courses are run at nearby high schools that take advantage of their fully equipped kitchens.

So maybe Uncle Bob and Aunty Mildred were right as who wouldn't be impressed when on your next date, you can say that you like them in another language or interpret the dream they had last night.

Hi, thank you for the fantastic information on the WEA - we pride ourselves on making learning accessible to everyone. In response to the question above, the WEA, in addition to its beginners photography courses, also holds weekend SLR workshops, which cater to all levels of ability. The courses can be accessed through our website www.wea-sa.com.au
Best of luck!
