See Queen's Greatest Hits Live
We Will Rock You, the musical sensation recreating the legendary energy of Queen's greatest concerts, debuts in Sydney for a season of shows beginning in April at the Lyric Theatre. The exciting spectacle features over 24 of Queen's hit songs, revolving around a fast-paced story written by comedic workaholic, Ben Elton.

Queen, one of the greatest bands in history, led by the energetic and larger-than-life Freddie Mercury, remained on our playlists long after Freddie passed away and the band members changed. Millions of fans longed to see them performing live on stage. In 2002, their hopes were realised with a theatre experience bringing the music and dynamism of Queen to the stage. With the original band members, Brian May and Roger Taylor, overseeing the development, the production stars a cast of talented Australian performers. The Uncanny X-Men's Brian Mannix, Australian Idol Winner Casey Donovan and stage musical veterans Gareth Keegan, Erin Clare, Thern Reynolds and Jaz Flowers (great name!) rock the stage. These charismatic singers won't just be performing the hits, they'll be telling Ben Elton's hilarious tale using the characters leaping from the lyrics of Queen, especially their best-known hits - Champions, Radio Ga Ga, I Want To Break Free, Somebody To Love, Killer Queen, Don't Stop Me Now, Under Pressure, Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites The Dust and of course, We Will Rock You.

Queen, forming in 1970, have been active ever since. Of the original line-up of Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon, Brian and Roger still perform, teaming with Paul Rodgers and Adam Lambert. They've released an amazing 18 number one albums, with their songs regularly topping 'best of' lists. The electric atmosphere at their concerts has spawned the creation of thousands of 'bootleg' recordings, actually boosting their popularity in countries with censorship laws restricting 'decadent' western music.

Queen's music has featured in films including 'A Knight's Tale' with Heath Ledger, television shows including 'Top Gear' and video games including Guitar Hero. A quote from MTV after Queen's performance at the charity show 'Live Aid' sums up their influence on music and the enthusiasm millions of music lovers feel when enjoying this stage show, 'that was just the most stunning, breathtaking, flawless, powerful, jubilant performance. It was everything you want in rock 'n' roll."
