29th Apartment is a fun and popular bar sitting next to the Prince of Wales in St Kilda. Offering a New York boho experience to that corner of The Esplanade, 29th Apartment have launched 'We Love Wednesdays' offering $1 pizza and $5 drinks to help celebrate the end of hump days.



There is a tale about St Kilda working girl Katishe who would bring clients home and let them marvel at her talents with a paint and brush... amongst other skills. She mysteriously disappeared in the 80's but the fame of her abstract New York inspired paintings lives on.

In 2009, the owners of the venue found her self-portrait - and used the time capsule of her story and these priceless relics to style a funky new venue in the heart of funky venues. Bringing a bit of NYC means creating a great bar with a friendly atmosphere, great prices, a balcony, a bathtub, a fluorescent aquarium, Soprano's pinball and... giant Jenga!



New to Wednesdays is live music and some of the cheapest eats and drinks in Melbourne. Ben and Bella supplied the music at the launch and they set the mood perfectly. They were fun, frisky, and outstanding musicians who really sett the tone for a relaxed and playful midweek hangout.

With a bit of a retro fill, there is a huge old style TV screen on one wall which plays endless films from black and whites through to modern classics. You can chill and travel down memory lane, laughing with your friends about when you saw the film, or head over the pinball and makes those light glow and those numbers tick over, all whilst munching on some of the most authentic pizza outside of Venice and chucking down a cold one.



And what about the giant Jenga? Anyone can take a go at building the tower as high as possible with blocks almost the size of house bricks. Just make sure you stand clear when they fall! The great thing about the giant Jenga is everyone hears it when they come down which means everyone can cheer in celebration of your failure. 29th Apartment working to bring the community together!

With prices you can't beat and more fun than your average bar, 29th Apartment is the best place to be on Wednesday nights. The staff are incredibly friendly and can mix cocktails as well as they pull a beer and the pizzas are huge and flavourful. Hump day has now come alive!
