Turn the Tan Teal this February at the Women's Cancer Foundation We Can Walk it Out . The event is to be held at The Tan at Kings Domain at Alexandra Avenue (Botanic Gardens) on Sunday 16th February, 2014.


The event features the options of a run for 4km or 8km run or a 4km walk enabling you to even bring along your dog for the event. Bring all the family along or get some work friends together and make this a day out and a chance to do something together to support ovarian cancer research and to support the Women's Cancer Foundation.


Teal is the International colour for ovarian cancer so go to town and be creative in the quest to Turn the Tan Teal. Make a day out of the event as there will be free entertainment, a free bbq and fruit for all at the end of the event. All entrants are given a teal balloon to write supportive messages on and to accompany you around the Tan.

Registration is available online and all entrants will receive a teal t-shirt as part of the event entry fee.

Entry fees for adults are
4km walk/run event $40
8km run event $40

Family entry fees are $105 which includes 2 adults and 2 children).

Entrants are advised to take public transport rather than drive, although there is street car parking in both Alexandra Avenue and Linlithgow Avenue. Trams are available and stop along St Kilda Road with there being a short walk to the event.

There will be on-the-day registrations available (from 7.30am) however you will need to arrive early so if possible, register online before the event to avoid large queues. There will be a separate registration desk for those who have registered online enabling them to pick up their free teal T-shirt and a water bottle if it was purchased as part of the online entry.

The course will take you in a clockwise direction around the Tan with there being a water station half way along the track, with toilets on site as well.

The event briefing will take place at 8.45am with the event commencing at 9am. A presentation ceremony will take place at 10.45am with the event finishing at 1pm.
