Come for an evening of fun, stories, and food, developed and organised by Space2b Social Design. Judith Lucy and Denise Scott will provide the comedy for this fundraising event so you are guaranteed lots of laughs and the feel-good factor too. All the profit will go towards mentoring and training programs for newly arrived migrants and refugees at Space2b.
Space2b Social Design is a social enterprise that does fantastic work with and for newly arrived refugees. Their idea, a very simple one, is to foster connections, build community and create opportunities. It's a social enterprise where people exchange skills, mentor others and share their stories and dreams while helping to improve their English. On the evening of December 1st, 2018, fun stories of settlement told through the eyes of eight artists and designers will be the focus of the show. Despite the hardships of settling into a new home, there are often fun stories and incidents, not only the grim ones we are told through the media. Judith Lucy and Clare Larman, an actress, have been working together with the group, to develop a small show or rather a collection of little stories.
A collaborative effort by all, led by Judith Lucy and Clare Larman
Judith Lucy, well-known for her acerbic humour and insightful, if sometimes uncomfortable, reflections on life has been involved with the Space2b community for a couple of years and has contributed to the growth and scope of this organisation. Together with Denise Scott, the funny actress from House Husbands and Winners and Losers, this duo will ensure that fun and laughter are very much part of the evening.
All ticket prices include a light dinner (from Iran & Somalia) and drinks are by donation.
All proceeds will go towards supporting newly arrived migrants, refugees and people seeking asylum on the road to becoming financially independent.
