Certain shades of blue represent sadness, hence the saying, "im feeling blue". In my opinion, since the colour blue is also the colour of the sky and the ocean, it should be associated with the same happy feelings you get when looking up at a clear blue sky or the most perfect blue water at a beach.

Kick those blues aside and get a happy fix here with my take on feeling blue!

1. Blue Mountains.

Approx 50 kms west of Sydney, this iconic area is named as such because of the distinctive blue haze surrounding it. Apart from the spectacular view, the Blue Mountains is known as a great place for a romantic getaway with B&B's, Antique shops, quaint cafes and lush surrounds. Nothing blue here but the mountains.

2. Blueberry Cheesecake.

This decadent dessert will turn any frown upside down from the very first mouthful. Its an explosion of happiness in your mouth from those little blue balls and the rich creamy cheese. The picture says it all. Another happy Blue moment.

3. Blue Velvet Martini.

This drink will put some colour on your cheeks. With a name that makes it sound as though it will slink down your throat smooth as, well, velvet, I can't imagine anyone feeling sad downing one of these. Why? Because Bond can't be wrong.

4. Byron Bay Bluesfest.

Australia's largest International Festival of Blues and Roots Music is held annually in beautiful Byron Bay. While Blues music is traditionally not exactly about happy times, the Byron Bay Blues and Roots festival is full of very happy people indeed. Music Festivals are a fun, happy and carefree environment where you cant help but smile as you relax, dance, sing and make new friends.

5. Blue Vein Cheese.

Despite the bad wrap this cheese gets, it is actually rich in minerals and also a good source of Protein and Vitamin B-12. So, go ahead and enjoy this fine cheese with a good wine because, who doesn't like wine and cheese?.
