It is rare to find Melbourne city so devoid of traffic and noise and shoppers - which makes it a great time to take a walk. The Ecumenical Devotion on Good Friday, organised by Melbourne City Churches in Action, usually starts at St Francis' Church in Lonsdale Street.

Each year, hundreds of people (Christians and non-Christians) relive the walk of Jesus as he carried his cross through the streets of Jerusalem. This event is not just a spiritual adventure but a great opportunity to visit some of Melbourne city's most beautiful churches:

St Francis's Church, Lonsdale Street
CrossCulture Church of Christ, Swanston Street
Wesley Uniting Church, Lonsdale Street
St Peter's Church, Eastern Hill
St Patrick's Cathedral, Corner of Gisborne and Albert Streets
German Trinity Lutheran Church, Parliament Place
St Michael's Church, Collins St
Scot's Church, Collins St
Baptist Church, Collins St
St Paul's Catherdral, Swanston St

The procession follows the traditional Way Of the Cross with songs and bible passages delivered at each spot.

You are welcome to join or leave at any point.
