Water lovers and fitness fanatics of all ages will find something to enjoy at the in Highett.

Four pools stretch across the huge ground floor of the facility, with a 50 metre lap pool, a toddler pool, a heated learner pool and of course the wave pool. The wave cycle runs every half hour on weekends, public holidays and during the school holidays, and every hour on regular weekdays. There are also jets which periodically rain on a small area of the wave pool. Two spas, a sauna and a steam room are available for adult visitors. Non-member entry to the pools costs $5.90 for adults, $4.30 for three to 15 year olds and concession card holders, and free for kids under three. Admission to the spa and sauna facilities costs about $4 extra.

The Health and Fitness Centre, which is located on the second storey of the complex with a view of the pool, is fully equipped with all the exercise equipment you could dream of. Yoga, pilates and spin classes are available, with most classes costing $15. There are several fitness programs for younger visitors , including the weekly Junior Gym for 10 to 13 year olds, and the Energise program for 14 to 16 year olds. There are also karate and boxing activities for kids. For older gym bunnies, there are several fitness options available including off-peak memberships.

Basic membership to the gym costs $64 per month, with a cheaper rate available for longer contracts of up to twelve months. A full price list can be viewed here .

A creche is available onsite for those who want to enjoy the gym facilities without having to worry about the whereabouts of their little ones. For a non-member, the crèche costs $7 for one child for one hour, with the maximum time under their care being four hours. Bookings are required.

is so big it has its own blog - which really shouldn't be surprising, since there are blogs about far less interesting topics (I'm looking at you, students who blog about their lives and deep philosophical thoughts). The Waves blog is certainly worth a visit to find out about current promotions and upcoming events.

A cafe is located in the centre for all your snacking needs. Despite the focus on health and fitness, there are few healthy options available.

Located just down the road from Southland Shopping Centre and GoKart Sport Racing , the 767 , 811 , 812 , and 821 buses have stops close by.
