Event:

The Wattle Festival Night Market is the final act featured in the Hurstbridge Wattle Festival on Sunday 27th August 2017. With decorative wattle in full bloom along the Diamond Creek, the Hurstbridge community comes out in force to celebrate their history, proudly centred around the railway. Featuring festival centrepiece, a fully restored K-class steam train; passengers can enjoy rides between Hurstbridge and Eltham right throughout the day as part of this community event.

Wattle Festival Night Market
An annual celebration since the very first Wattle Festival back in 2004, everyone is welcome to come along for a day full of family fun. As festival precincts extend out from the main street, visitors especially will be able to fully appreciate the history of this area as they stroll about the town. For those not so keen on walking or if you would simply like to add a bit of adventure to your day climb aboard the double-decker shuttle bus.

Wattle Festival Night Market
With heaps of free activities, entertainment and displays, there is something for everyone. See the retro BMX bike display and art exhibition. Participate in the treasure hunt and call into the animal nursery for some hands-on fun. There will be free miniature train rides for the kids, CFA displays, face painting, balloon artists, heaps of live music including buskers and a Best of Fest music competition, spread right throughout the village.

Wattle Festival Night Market
Best of all, in celebration of the Hurstbridge railway history, everyone can enjoy a ride on the steam train, which will be running between Hurstbridge and Eltham throughout the day.

The Wattle Festival Night Market opens at 4pm and will trade until the festival officially closes at 8pm. Boasting around 30 stallholders, the market comprises predominantly of local makers and producers and small businesses collected from around the area. Items on sale will include art works, crafts, handmade jewellery, candles, tools and, of course, plenty of dinner options from an array of food vendors.

Wattle Festival Night Market
While you're at the market, why not turn yourself into a work of art with the help of Divine Henna Tattoo, or you can have your face painted by marvellous Da Si Ma Lu Creations. Find something unique to wear at A Treasure For You (Clothing), or select a matching set of earrings, bracelets, necklaces and more from Treasures by Bianca. Fill your bathroom with soy candles and bathroom products courtesy of Hayley Renee Soy Candles & Bath and take home a jar of chutney or sauce, or even a packet of biscuits, thanks to Chef Susie. For those who like hands-on craft, create your own bead art at The Little Bead Cart. Browse the selection of funky baby and kids wares at the Itty Bitty Trinkets stall or adopt a funny monkey from Happily Made Monkeys. There's heaps more and you can find out all about the stallholders on the Wattle Festival Night Market Facebook page by following the link here.

Market organisers proudly advise the live musical entertainment will include local singer/songwriters Ash Sumpter and Amie Grisold, along with Mia Hamilton and Lottie Liams. Each of these talented ladies is profiled on the Wattle Festival Night Market Facebook page.

The Wattle Festival Night Market is being held on Sunday 27th August 2017 from 10am along the main street. Then the night market will open at 4pm and run through to 8pm at the Hurstbridge Train Station.
