Located on Waterloo Corner Road in Paralowie, has recently undergone a major renovation to update its appearance and expand its menu to one focused on pub favourites and a few dishes that can be expected at more "upmarket" settings. It proved to be quite popular, attracting a large crowd when we visited.

Their Ribs & Wings dish features a combination of half a rack of pork ribs and chilli glazed chicken wings. The tender flesh of the ribs easily separated from the bones and had a delectable barbecue taste. The crisp coating of the chicken wings contrasted well with the succulent meat. The degree of spiciness of the chicken wings is suitable for those not used to spicy foods. Accompanying the meats were coleslaw, chips and extra barbecue and chilli sauces.

Their Pumpkin & Lentil Salad had slices of pumpkin of a generous size. They were soft while still retaining its texture. Freshness was provided by the broccolini and spinach, and pomegranate seeds added a hint of sweetness. While not apparent from the dish's description, the pumpkin and lentils were served in a yoghurt-based dressing that did not taste too creamy.

Coming in a serving of two, the kingfish in the Kingfish Taco was cooked just right, with the light batter coating setting off the flesh nicely. Avocado and charred corn gave the dish a bit of a Mexican flair, and coleslaw provided a bit of extra texture. The smoked aioli had a delectable smoky taste.

Large enough to be shared, their Greek Salad had a generous amount of cucumber, tomato and cos lettuce, which gave it a refreshing flavour. Olives added a salty element. The saltiness was balanced by the tomatoes, and a lemon wedge was provided to squeeze over the salad if you wish to add some tartness. We chose to have the feta served separately so we could add as much as we desired. For a more filling meal, chicken or calamari can be added for an extra cost.

Available to seniors, the portion size of the Seniors Roast was very generous. The pork offered during our visit was tender and the roasted pumpkin, potatoes, carrot and parsnip were cooked to perfection. Also included were broccoli and cauliflower to provide a change of flavour from the other vegetables. Completing the dish was a Yorkshire Pudding and gravy that partnered wonderfully with the pork.

The décor of the restaurant had a cosy and modern feel. There was a play area and a playground to keep kids occupied while you wait for your dishes. Parking is not an issue as the carpark in front of the hotel provides convenient off-street parking.
