Just down the road from Macquarie University and next to Trafalgar Reserve in Marsfield lies , a space that meets the needs of families and anyone who is looking to fit some exercise into their lifestyle.

Central to is its giant oval, which includes both soccer fields and a baseball diamond. There is a path around the oval that is wider than most - so much so that it has even been marked with lanes and is great for cyclists. In fact, it makes up part of the 827 metres of cycleway to be enjoyed here.





If you want to get some exercise but don't want to bring your bike along with you, there are pieces of fitness equipment (all with instructions explaining how you should use them) located at intervals along the path around the oval.





For the kids, there is a playground area with some interesting, modern play equipment, including a whole lot of net to climb through. There is also much smaller equipment for tiny kids. Both areas are conveniently located next to large sheltered tables.



Next to the play equipment there is also a basketball court and toilets. Not far away is 's own car park.



When I was at Waterloo park, I only saw one section of the place. Looking on Google Maps, it seems to extend much further than I thought, which would explain where the rest of the cylceway can be found. This other section of the park serves as the meeting place for Waterloo's and Wildlife/Bushcare/Join a Bushcare Group Bushcare group, which meets on the first Saturday of every month, between 1.30pm and 3.30pm.



Next time, I'm going to check that other section out. For now, I think is a pretty good park anyway - it seems to have everything you would expect, plus a few extra surprises like the fitness equipment.
