One of Phuket's most famous temples Chalong Temple (or Chalong) is one of the most visited tourist spots. It's beautiful with the most exquisite designs on both the outside and inside. It is full of culture and history and I would definitely recommend anyone in Phuket to visit it.
It is unclear exactly when Wat Chalong was first established, it is believed the original temple was built during the reign of King Rama II (1809-1842). It has since has been renovated and augmented a number of times. The most recent major addition to the Wat was the construction of a special chedi, which is 61.39 meters high and cost 66 million baht, to house a fragment of bone from the Lord Buddha.
When you visit the temple, wear proper shoes and women should have covered shoulders and knees.
