Mother Courage

Cannes Film Festival's Camera d'Or winner for his film-making debut Samson and Delilah (2009) Warwick Thornton is also an artist having exhibited Stranded (2011) at the Samstag Museum of Art during the Adelaide Film Festival. His latest work Mother Courage is another example of his exploitative expression of a deep issue.

Mother Courage is based on Bertolt Brecht's play, 'Mother Courage and Her Children' and explores the divide between contemporary life and traditional culture after its cultural displacement in society.

For those who have both experienced some form of cultural shift as well as those who have not, this exhibition puts the audience in the characters' shoes and gets them to think about what's important.

Mother Courage also has an educational program for classes Here.
