How unusual. A spectacularly sunny Saturday in the middle of Winter to enjoy the delights of the Warrandyte Market. To tell you the truth I probably hadn't been to the Warrandyte Market for a good nine months. I was expecting to see the same stalls I had seen the last time I visited. I was in for a surprise. The market has grown and there were several new, interesting stalls to explore.

Let me share a few of the stalls to look out for when you visit the Warrandyte Market and then reveal how you can be a part of the action:

Barista Bros Coffee
A good start is beginning the morning with a delicious coffee from the Barista Bros Coffee stand. You can sit and relax on the chairs set up behind the stall.

Plant Stalls

There are at least 4 plant stalls at the market. Plants to purchase range from native shrubs to citrus trees. All stallholders are friendly and are willing help you out with planting tips and ideas.

Fruit and Vegetable Stalls

There are at least 3 fruit and vegetable stalls. Some specialise in organic produce and others locally grown fruit and vegetables. On the Saturday I was there, one stall was selling 8 delicious Australian avocados for $5.

Dog Stalls
If you've ever been for a walk along the Yarra River at Warrandyte you will know it is a haven for every breed of dog. In celebration of this fact there was a dog food stall, a dog accessory stall and a dog bed stall.

Gozleme Stall

The delightful Gozleme stall sells the traditional Turkish mouth watering handmade pastry with your choice of filling.

Stalls with Handmade Items
There are a range of stalls with original, delightful handmade items ranging from wonderful bright bags to character ridden garden sculptures.

Once you have explored the market you might be so exhausted you need to buy some sleep in a bottle - see photo!

The true beauty of the Warrandyte Market is the fact that it is set in such beautiful surrounds. Stalls wind their way through the trees along the banks of the Yarra. It occurs on the first Saturday of every month except January at Stiggants Reserve , Stiggants Road, Warrandyte between 9am and 1pm.
