Warragul Snowfest is an award-winning event and it will be back on 27th July, 2018, from 4.30 pm to 7.30 pm. This great event will be staged at the Warragul CBD, Palmerston Street.

Warragul is about 100 kms east-southeast of Melbourne and lies between the Strzelecki Ranges to the south and the Mount Baw Baw Plateau of the Great Dividing Range to the North.

You will need to get your warm clothes on, beanies, retrieve your "Frozen" outfits, and come and play in Mt Baw Baw snow, on Smith and Palmerston Streets.

Warragul Snowfest started with the zany idea of bringing truckloads of real snow from the top of Mt Baw Baw, right down into the heart of Warragul. The idea of this was for a fun and free family event.

The activities on for this festival include:

  • Snow play areas for big and little children
  • Toboggan run
  • Dunking for Gold Challenge - community fundraiser
  • Meet Mt Baw Baw's Dingos plus Howling Huskies
  • Dance music
  • Competitions
  • Costume competition
  • Entertainment
  • Night market
  • Food stalls
  • Toasting marshmallows
  • Fireworks display at 7.30 pm
  • Children's activities

  • Wow - so much fun to be had here!

Warragul Snowfest is all about supporting the local community, and in recognition of this, it is requested that you donate a gold coin so that local charities can be supported. This will be in the form of the icy cold Dunk for Gold Challenge.

Last year, 2017, Warragul Snowfest won Baw Baw Shire's Australia Day Community Event of the Year.

This fest is the initiative of the Warragul Business Group and it is run by a generous group of volunteers, along with the support of the local businesses and community groups.

On Friday 27th July, the streets of Smith Street and Palmerston Street will be closed at 2.00 pm, to bring in snow and snowmaking equipment. There will be a traffic management company who will take care/control of these street closures as well as the traffic diversions.

The Central Business District cafes will be open along with some Snow Market stalls.

There will be a fireworks display in Civic Park Warragul at 7.30 pm, so make sure your pets are securely inside as it may upset some pets.

For more information on this event, please visit this Facebook page , or this Warragul Snowfest website.

It will be an event packed with fun, family-friendly activities, snow play areas, big toboggan run, dance music, competitions, food, toasting marshmallows and a few surprises. Added to all this, don't forget the fireworks at 7.30 pm!

Parking: There will be ample parking available at car parks in Mason Street, Warragul train station, and the Arts Centre.
