Waroona Really Really Free Market

Home > Mandurah > Markets | Free
Published January 31st 2013

I love getting stuff cheap and for this reason I am always checking out op-shops, garage sales, markets. I have discovered some really cool markets that are on every month and where everything is free. Yep, free clothes, free toys, free flatscreen monitor, free lunch, free reiki, free coffee, free card readings, free everything.

This it the Really Really Free Markets, held third Saturday every month at the hall on Southwest Highway in Waroona. Doors open at 1 pm and they stay until 3 pm.

They are on Facebook and have a website too.

The idea behind them is to promote community spirit. People take anything that they no longer want, stuff that is still good, too good to throw away but that they are willing to give to others. They leave it out on tables, hang around for a couple of hours picking up things that they want then taking back anything of theirs that is left and taking it home with them again. Most times there isn't much left of their stuff to take home but you see people leaving with new treasures all the time.

Over the last year I have cleaned out my cupboards and taken down bags of stuff and it has all a found a new home and I have a few things here that I love that came from these markets.

If you are in or around Waroona when these are on, I suggest that you take some time and check them out. I like them and I think you might too.
