I am a weekend adventurer and enjoy getting out and about with the family. I live in Brisbane and my main loves are food, sport and kid related activities

What a wonderful find the Warner Tavern is. We thought we had been to almost every kid friendly dinner venue in our area but we hadn't even heard of this place until recently.
After a recommendation from friends with kids of similar ages - 3 and 5 - we all ventured there on a Saturday night. We arrived fairly early and were glad we had booked as it was quite busy even then.
The kids headed straight for the games room and playground which is one of the reasons I like the place so much. The kids area is fully enclosed and inside so no need to worry about little ones going missing. The 5 year olds particularly enjoyed the array of playstations.
The menu has lots of favourites and also a special schnitzel section. There are 22 varieties of topping listed for the chicken schnitzels. I had the Finger Lickin' which was bacon, gorgonzola, and BBQ sauce. Yum. My 3 friends all had steak which came cooked to order with fries and a little pot of salad. There were a number of sauces to choose from.
Kids menu was fairly standard. 2 had spaghetti bolognaise and the other 2 popcorn chicken and chips. The spaghetti looked fresh and tasty, while the popcorn chicken didn't look that appealing but the kids enjoyed it. Kids meals could be upgraded for $1 to include a drink or $2 for a drink and activity pack. There is an icecream fridge which the kids used for dessert.
Being a pub there are obviously plenty of drinks to chose from. There was a house wine special for $5 per glass - red and white. I had the white and enjoyed it. There are lots of special deals on the Warner Tavern website.
If you are looking for a pub with good food and drinks and a place to keep the kids entertained give this place a go.
