Wanneroo Markets is launching a brand new shopping experience from February 27th 2015.
Dubbed the Wanneroo Markets Pop Up Shop Project, this exciting new feature of the weekly Wanneroo Markets will see a range of unique local "pop up" stalls appearing throughout the markets.
The "pop ups" will showcase unique, local and hand made goods created by home-grown artists and artisans.
The Wanneroo Markets has been supporting start-up business since its establishment in 1980, and it is encouraging people to trial their ideas by offering "pop-ups" 3 weeks free rent! This is a great opportunity for local artists to showcase their talents to people of the northern suburbs.
As this is an ongoing project, there will be new and exciting things to discover each and every visit to the markets. To keep up with the pop-up tenants each week, 'like' the official Facebook profile. You'll find new photos and details uploaded each week.
And to cater for people's tastebuds, the markets will also be host to a pop-up kitchen. Alfredo, owner of Arepa, a Latin American restaurant at the Wanneroo Markets, first established his business with a barbecue he found on the roadside and a taste for good food. He now has two restaurants in Perth and is soon to open a third.
As a way to encourage local talent, he has turned his kitchen into 'Arepa's Pop-Up Barbecue'. A fully licensed commercial kitchen; people can trial their food ideas for a day, a weekend or a month! The kitchen will also be available in non-trading hours for people to cater to events, prepare pre-made goods and host cooking classes.
