Don't forget your bathers
Wanneroo Aquamotion falls into the category of one of the places I love to take my little toddler. I've been taking him to Aquamotion since he was born, and it's one of our favourite leisure centres for families. What do I love about Aquamotion? Everything. It's got a great indoor pool for tiny kiddies; one that is shallow throughout with no sudden surprise hidden depth issues that some of the other 'family' pools have. In addition to this it's got a great main indoor pool, where there are swimming lanes that cater for all levels of fitness and swimming abilities. So whether you want to go into the deeper pool for an athletic swim, a gentle aqua walk or to just splash around with the bigger kids then there are lanes that cater for this.
However, it's the outside area of Aquamotion that I think really provides the wow factor, and solicits my deep love for the centre. The outdoor area is multifaceted, but built around a really awesome splash pad type area. Kids little and big can play in the water playground and you'll have lots of fun jumping in and around the water activities. If you've not been here before I'll help you visualise; just imagine lots of jumping jets, springs of water, buckets that fill with water overhead and then come gushing down on you. It's a lovely little playground, and in the Summer it's a great haven for kids and big kids (me) alike and covered by a rainbow of shade sails which makes it sun smart, too. Adjacent to the water playground you also have a further large outdoor pool.
Adult supervision is a must (as it should be for all water based activities); the depth of the outdoor pool means that little kids' toes won't be touching the bottom, so come armed with your floaties, arm bands, rubber rings or your swimming skills for some great outdoor pool action. As if all this wasn't enough, across from the outdoor water pool there are also barbeques for your own use as well as a small, but nicely equipped playground. Lots of trees for shade too, so a perfect place for a family picnic. I should also mention the lovely staff who have been kind enough to bring out the sun loungers for those who want to relax in the outdoor sun; it's like a holiday resort.
For the holistic leisure experience, I should also add that Wanneroo Aquamotion also has a fully equipped gym (casual users welcome), a range of fitness classes, swimming lessons for all ages, a spa and sauna (oh yes) and a crèche. I have used the crèche myself and found it to be very well staffed and well equipped; there are some preferred guidelines for use of the crèche so do read those online prior to using and remember to make a booking. This is not a drop in centre.
