[b]BOOKS - BOOKS - BOOKS**

Love 'em or hate them but those who love 'em can be far richer than those who do not! And real books which, for me, are so much nicer than trying to read on a computer!

The actually grew from a Rotary Club of Wangaratta Book Fair initiative. This started early in 2017, one over the Queen's Birthday weekend in 2017 and 2018.

The festival will now be held on the weekend of Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September 2019 from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm and on the Sunday to 3.00 pm. It will be held at St Patricks Hall, Ford Street, Wangaratta.

More than 40,000 books have been donated from the local community and the fair continues to go up and receive significant funds for community projects.

To incorporate a Literary Festival and the the rotary will continue to develop in 2019 and will again feature heaps of book sales.

Wangaratta Young Writers Award is for young people between the ages of 10 to 19. The award encourages the development of fullness and imagination through writing. It will recognise the categories of prose, poetry or song lyrics and writing for a digital format, the awards will be presented at a post Wang Lit Fest celebration.

There will be visiting writers, presentations and workshops which have been organised and jointly sponsored by the Arts Council and the Wangaratta Library.
The CWA will be providing refreshments right through the day in the main St Patricks Hall with their unique Retro Cafe.

Outside the main entrance at the Hall and the CWA, there will also be providing home-cooked cakes and refreshments supported by rotary and their all-day sausage sizzle.

[b]FROM THE COMMUNITY FOR THE COMMUNITY**
The project focusses on the key message from the Community…to the Community. The more books that get sold every year, the more money we raise for worthwhile community projects.

The committee has a five-year business plan and additional outcomes. These include the sponsoring of the new Wang Lit Fest which will encourage and support satellite events across the arts, schools and community groups as well as writers and book lovers of all ages.

This year, the estimated revenue is expected to be $30,000 to $40,000 from book sales alone, and all proceeds will be distributed across community groups and organisations.

For more information go to their webpage.

This is going to be a great book sale with all the books on offer, so make sure that you mark these dates in your phone or diary.
