Part of Rockhampton River Festival, prepare to be enchanted at the
Walter Reid Cultural Centre Auditorium, 203 East Street, Rockhampton (corner of East Street and Derby Street), with extraordinary performances by the
Rockhampton Youth Orchestra, CQ Strings and the
Rockhampton Symphony Jazz Orchestra.
Whether you're a connoisseur of the arts or simply love listening to the wonders of music, immerse yourself in this unforgettable experience. You can expect from classical ballads to popular jazz classics, the lineup promises to captivate audiences of all ages.
This is a ticketed event with $10 ticket for adults, $8 for pensioners, $500 for children under 12 years old and $26 for family. Please see below for details of each performance
Classics of Swing, Latin and Ballad by Rockhampton Symphony Orchestra Jazz Show – Saturday, 27 July 2024, starting from 11 am to 12.45 pm.
The band is composed of 6 saxophones, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, 4 rhythms and 2 vocalists. It will feature a dynamic program of popular jazz classics of Swing, Latin, and Ballads as well as music from Walt Disney movies, Michael Buble and many more. Book

Suite Serenades for Strings by CQ Strings Show – Saturday, 27 July 2024, starting from 2 pm to 3.45 pm
The repertoire will not only include well-known classics such as Mozart's 'Eine Kleine' and Dvorak's 'Serenade for Strings' but also string serenades and suites from lesser-known composers such as Beliczay and Karlowicz. The repertoire will feature solos on violin, viola and cello demonstrating the differences in pitch and timbre between the instruments. Book

Swing, Stamp and Sing: A Variety Performance by Rockhampton Youth Orchestra Show and Unisong Choir - Sunday, 28 July 2024, starting from 2 pm to 3.45 pm.
Presents a rather eclectic selection of well-known pieces of music, you can enjoy a variety from classic ballads (e.g., Blue Moon) and folk hits of the 60s, such as The Mamas and the Papas’ California Dreamin’, to popular marches (e.g., Radetzky March) and Largo, the second movement from Dvorak's New World Symphony, RYO and Unisong Choir hope to have you swinging, stamping, and/or singing with them.
