I'm a freelance writer who lives on the Bellarine Peninsula. I enjoy finding new things to see and do in the beautiful area that I live in. I'm also a booklover- see my reviews at acomfychair.com/profile/52/
When it comes to participating in expensive sporting pursuits, equestrian ranks very highly above other, more affordable sports. Not only do you have to pay for your horse (if you're lucky enough to own one), but you also have to consider agistment or stabling (if you don't have the facilities yourself), specialised foods such as hay or oats, riding lessons, appropriate clothing and protection and, if you compete, transport to and from events. Besides the costs, there is also a lot more work involved in the sport than in others, and the calibre of competition is extremely high. That's why, if you're serious about the sport, you'll want the very best.
On the Bellarine Peninsula, and in Wallington in particular, there are several horse riding establishments, but only one will be celebrating their 40th birthday this year. Wallington Park Equestrian Centre, located on the Bellarine Highway, will be holding their Equestrian Extravaganza Open Day on Saturday 21 December between 1-4pm. It goes without saying that such a milestone birthday is testament to their longstanding success and professionalism in the equestrian field. As part of their anniversary celebrations, they will be holding a family fun day with pony rides, jumping castles, horse riding demonstrations, a masterclass and plenty of food options for you to enjoy. There will also be the opportunity to walk around the grounds of the Equestrian Centre, and meet some of the horses that reside there.
Wallington Park offers a range of lesson options for horse-riding students (beginners, intermediate and advanced) and riding camps for children aged 8-15 years. As well as lessons and agistment, they also offer show jumping and dressage tuition and have two internationally successful stallions at stud for potential breeding opportunities. If you're at all interested in horse riding or equestrian, or would like to find out how you can get involved in this popular sport, attend Wallington Park's Equestrian Extravaganza Open Day and 40th birthday celebrations on the 21st December. You may just find yourself with a potential sporting interest for the coming New Year.
