Then head down Wallaroo Road, a winding country lane just north of Canberra. Amble along for a few kilometres and you'll find a lush cherry orchard bursting with fruit ready to pick.
You'll see a quaint hand painted sign at the gate during picking season. The gates will be open when the farm is open, generally from 9am til 7pm seven days per week when the fruit is ripe and available. The cherry season in Canberra usually runs from late November through December. For details each season, you can join the

is family owned and run with a casual and relaxed vibe. When you arrive, you'll get a bucket to fill and the trees are just a short walk from the parking area. The trees are easy to reach even for little kids and there is plenty of space to spread out during busier times. This is a great family activity and you are invited to try some fruit as you pick which adds to the fun. Once you duck under the bird netting, you have the run of the orchard so you can get busy plucking the juicy, red fruit fresh from the trees. The fun of picking your own fruit is one of those simple pleasures and of course the fruit tastes so much better when you've had to work for it! One thing to keep in mind is that there is a 1kg minimum for the pick your own which in 2022 costs $20.
As summer warms up Canberra, the lure of those fresh, ripe cherries and fresh country are hard to resist. 's proximity to Canberra and the timing that coincides perfectly with the summer holidays mean cherry picking at is one of those activities just begging to become an annual family tradition so why not head to the farm and check it out this weekend?
