Wallace & Gromit come to Sydney this December.

The dynamic duo are bringing their 'cracking' exhibition, Wallace & Gromit's World of Invention Exhibition , to the Powerhouse Museum on Saturday the 15th December 2012, after a successful stint in Melbourne.

The name of the exhibition refers to the 2010 BBC One Wallace and Gromit spin-off ' Wallace and Gromit's World of Invention '. Wallace , a self proclaimed genius, who has a keen interest in all things inventions and contraptions (sometimes they work, most of the time, they don't), was the perfect host for the children's science show series, which lasted only six episodes.

Within the series, Wallace and Gromit would celebrate other inventors, but this interactive touring exhibition celebrates Wallace's own inspiring inventions; for example the Karaoke Disco Shower, The Thinking Cap, Telly-scope II, the Blend-o-matic, Chocolate Teapot, the Ice Hot Water Bottle and many other curious inventions.

Most of the exhibits are interactive and will hopefully inspire a new generation of inventors. There will be a Creative Station set up, so all visitors to the exhibition can share their own ideas as well. Supported by IP Australia , children will also learn about copyright, registered design and trademarks.

In addition to the World of Invention component of the exhibition, there will also be film sets and props on display from the award winning Wallace & Gromit short films and feature films.

Wallace & Gromit's World of Invention Exhibition will run until May 2013 and tickets are currently on sale through Ticketek .

In the coming months expect to hear more details on the accompanying special events program. Head to the Powerhouse Museum website for the very latest.
