Walking SA are proudly launching the '2013 Walking Season' with a great free event on Sunday 14th April, 2013 at Elder Park from 10am. This all ages event will promote the various activities and services offered by the volunteer organisation, which includes supporting more than 20 specialised local walking clubs, as well as providing detailed maps and information on many of the state's bushwalking trails.
This event, however, isn't just for regular walkers - it is designed to introduce the many benefits and pleasures of walking for fitness to new walkers as well. You can find out about more about each individual walking club (there are walking groups to suit different fitness levels and interests), as well as learn about the latest walking gear from some of the more experienced members.
Plus new walkers can participate in the Come 'n Try Walks, which will take place throughout the day at Adelaide Parklands and Linear Park. These 1/2 hour and 1 hour walks are part of the South Australian government's 'Be Active' initiative, which advocates all you need is 30 minutes of physical activity a day to improve your health.
If you want to learn more about local walking clubs and how to implement regular walking into your daily routine, head to Walking SA's '2013 Opening of the Walking Season' event - you are sure to find all the knowledge, support and encouragement you need to 'walk yourself happy'.
