Three-kilometre walk to support those living with dementia
Statistics state that in Australia more than 400,000 people live with dementia every day and of those people approximately 55% are women. If one in ten people over the age of 65 have dementia, it is a scary thought as we each near towards that age. I have heard many people say, "I must be getting dementia, I'm forgetting things"; however, medical advice is best sought for any self-analysing doubts will only cause concern and anxiety.
Cost for the event is $15.00 per person; children and people living with dementia and their carers' are free to enter. To register for this event, please go to www.trybooking.com/BDQPD. The first 100 registrations will receive a FREE Walk With Me Hat.
The course is a three-kilometre round walk from Crockatt Park to Pelican Park commencing at 9.30am and concluding 11.30am. For more information on this event, please ring 07 3284 3081. This event kicks off National Dementia Week. Entertainment and food will be available during the event.
