Event:
Come together to walk and support refugees and immigrants
Welcome to Australia is an organisation committed to promoting a multicultural and welcoming Australia. Their message is simple, people from abroad are welcome here. It mission is to send out a message of welcome to all people who come to Australia. There is a particular focus on refugees as much of the current foucs on Australia's refugee policies and the refugee crisis caused by the war in Syria .

The Walk Together event is a public walk with the purpose to bring Australians of diverse backgrounds together and send a clear message of welcome. In particular, the message of the walk will be that Australia respects and welcomes refugees.

Events will be held all over Australia on Saturday October 31 at 11 am. The Brisbane event will start at Kurilpa Point Park in South Brisbane and proceed over the Kurikpa Bridge and end at the Supreme Court Plaza on George Street.

Less of a protest march and more of a welcome party, this event is a chance to show your support to some of the most vulnerable people. Brisbanites come together to show that you support a welcoming policy for refugees.
