Saturday, 18 November 2017 is International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day. On this day, Wesley LifeForce will hold memorial services around Australia to support those affected by suicide and offer comfort and hope. Adelaide's memorial service will be held at Henley Square at 6.30am, followed by a complimentary breakfast, tea and coffee provided.
Join members of AnglicareSA's Living Beyond Suicide program as they host their annual walk of remembrance 'Walk Through The Darkness' to the memorial service. Meet at 5am - at either West Beach (Adelaide Shores Sailing Club) or Tennyson (Oarsman Reserve) to walk along the beach to the memorial service at Henley Square. Living Beyond Suicide offers a free but valuable support service to families and individuals bereaved through suicide. Funded by the Australian government, Living Beyond Suicide operates 7 days a week, from 10am-10pm. The service can be accessed during hours of operation via ph: 1300 76 11 93 or email: email@example.com or Facebook: www.facebook.com.au/LivingBeyondSuicide.
As many of us are aware, Lifeline is another valuable and free service providing Australians with 24-hour access to crisis support and suicide prevention services. Lifeline can be contacted 24/7 on ph: 13 11 14 and also offers an online chat service, 7 days a week, from 7pm-4am (AEST). Adelaide's Lifeline service is provided by Uniting Communities.
So if you feel you and/or someone you know would benefit from support due to loss of a loved one through suicide or at risk of suicide - help them take the first step to accessing compassionate, free and professional support.
