Trace the steps of the convicts
If you are interested in the rich folklore and diverse true stories about the convict history of Fremantle, then these walking tours are for you. The fascinating Walk in the Shoes of Convicts tours will run on Saturday 10th May and Saturday 17th May, 2014, between 10am and 11.15am, and will give a unique insight into the history of Fremantle.
Proudly brought to you by the City of Fremantle, as part of the Fremantle Heritage Festival 2014 and presented by the Fremantle Prison, these walking tours will take you in the footsteps of convicts, experiencing the same journey as they did after arriving in Fremantle, to serve their time, in the 1800's.
Experienced Tour Guides from the Fremantle Prison will take you for a walk along historical convict paths. These unique tours will take you from the South Jetty in Bathers Bay right up to the gates of the Fremantle Prison. Please note that these walking tour events do not include a tour of the Fremantle Prison.
These interesting tours will meet, and depart, from the grassed area by the entry to the Round House in Fremantle. The Walk in the Shoes of Convicts tours are suitable for people of all ages, but there is a lot of walking involved and the tour goes ahead no matter the weather.
The Walk in the Shoes of Convicts tours are free to attend, however, bookings are still essential and can be made by phoning 9336 9205.
