is the inaugural fundraising event for the Warren Bonython Heysen Trail Foundation on Sunday May 22. The Warren Bonython Heysen Trail Foundation (WBHTF) aims to raise funds to undertake environmental initiatives for the Heysen Trail, and other walking trails and environmental areas in South Australia. Their immediate priorities are the construction of additional toilets and funding a pilot project to remotely monitor tank water levels along the Heysen Trail.

The Heysen Trail is one of the world's great walking trails, and the longest dedicated walking trail in Australia. The 1,200 km long walking trail starts at Cape Jervis and winds along the beaches and cliffs of the south coast. It passes over the rolling hills and rural landscapes of the Fleurieu Peninsula and Mount Lofty Ranges . Beyond Mount Bryan , the trail crosses over to the rugged peaks and valleys of the Flinders Ranges as it heads to Parachilna Gorge where it ends.

is a walk in the Mount Crawford forest which is fundraising for the WBHTF. Three separate walking trail options are available: 5 km, 8 km or 15 km, with all walks departing from 9.30 am. The walks depart from and return to the Fromm's Farm camp-site at Mount Crawford. Walks are designed to suit all ages and standards of walking fitness. Why not bring the family for a great day out at Mount Crawford, while supporting the ongoing development of much needed facilities on the Heysen Trail.

After your walk, relax and grab a sausage from the BBQ at the Fromm's Farm campsite - or bring your picnic while enjoying some cool blues with "Deuces Wild". Fromm's Farm has a large shelter shed and a picnic area with space to relax. In keeping with the tradition of the Warren Bonython Memorial Walk conducted by the Friends of the Heysen Trail in 2013, the theme for the day will be yellow. A prize consisting of a Heysen Trail merchandise pack to the value of $100 will be presented to the best sartorial contribution on the day.

Register online here or find the link through the Friends of Heysen Trail walk programme . The cost to support this fundraising event is $30 for adults, $5 for children and $50 for families. If you'd like to make a one-off donation to the Warren Bonython Heysen Trail Foundation, you can do it at the Foundation's cause page .
