Warren Bonython Heysen Trail Foundation is hosting an inaugural fundraising event supporting the on-going work to improve facilities on the Heysen Trail.
This family-friendly event will be held on Sunday 22 May 2016 from 9.30 am. All are invited to enjoy a leisurely walk through the native scrub and pine forest followed by a BBQ and blues band.
Make sure to arrive in time to register before your walk. You can choose from three distances, 5 km, 8 km and 15 km, and all walks will depart from and arrive back to the Fromm's Farm camp-site. Route maps will be distributed at the start of the walk and marshals will provide directions at key points.
Each walk has been designed to suit all ages and standards of walking fitness so it's a great event for families to complete together.
After the walk you can relax at Fromm's Farm which offers a large shelter shed and a picnic area with space to relax.
There will be some cool blues with "Deuces Wild" and a sausage sizzle to enjoy. You are also welcome to bring your own gourmet picnic as well.
In keeping with the tradition of the Warren Bonython Memorial Walk conducted by the Friends of the Heysen Trail in 2013, the theme for the day will be yellow. A prize consisting of a Heysen Trail merchandise pack to the value of $100 will be presented to the best sartorial contribution on the day.
You may also choose to make a one-off donation to the Foundation through the Foundation's cause page.
