Walk for Prems is an Australia-wide fundraising event, held annually in October. This year's event will be held in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Launceston, Perth, Sydney and Melbourne.
Registrations are currently open for individuals and teams.
Now in its 6th year, Walk for Prems raises much needed funds for Life's Little Treasures Foundation - Australia's foremost charity supporting families with premature and sick infants.
Each year over 45,000 babies are admitted into neonatal intensive and special care units. Their parents and families need support during this emotional and uncertain journey.
The fundraising target for this year is set at $250,000, which will go towards providing vital services, including hospital support programs, iPhone/android applications, information sessions, telephone support line and parent support network.
Every dollar raised counts - just $10 means Life's Little Treasures Foundation can provide one more family with a free copy of A Guiding Hand, essential information for any family who finds themselves in the unknown world of a neonatal intensive care unit or special care nursery.
The upcoming Brisbane event will be held on Sunday 25th of October, 2015 in a fun and festive family-friendly atmosphere. It will take place at Sandgate Foreshores Park.
All are invited to come and support the ambassadors and are encouraged to relax and set-up a picnic rug following the walk/run event.
During the afternoon families can enjoy a BYO picnic, face-painting and other children's entertainment free of charge.
This is a great opportunity to support families who have babies born premature or sick.
