Walk for Compassion, Dignity and Love
The Mary Potter Foundation Inc is the driving force behind the Mary Potter Hospice. Those involved with the Foundation work tirelessly to support the Hospice and undertake a series of activities each year to raise funds and generate community support to ensure that the work of the Hospice is ongoing. The Mary Potter Hospice provide in-patient palliative and end of life care with compassion, dignity and love to those in need.
Walk for Love is an annual event which aims to raise funds to ensure the ongoing operations of The Mary Potter Hospice. All Walk for Love and Walk for Me donations help ensure that each patient and their family receives care that is individual, meaningful, compassionate and loving.
Walk for Love will be held on Sunday 27 May 2018, commencing from Carclew, 11 Jeffcott Street, North Adelaide at 10 am. You can choose from a 3 km wheelchair, pram and dog-friendly (approximately 30 minutes) or 7 km slightly more challenging route (approximately one hour).
This year, there is no registration fee to join in the walk. You are asked instead to make a gift from your heart. You can register as an individual, create a team or join a team and have the opportunity to fundraise amongst your friends, family and colleagues or even better, get them to come along and walk with you. You can even bring your best furry friend providing you keep them on a lead at all times.
When you register, you will receive a Registration Pack which includes your heart/s, collection box and fundraising guide.
There will be complimentary water available along the route and fundraising stalls offering cake, coffee and sausage sizzle when you return to Carclew.
If you would love to join in but are not able to do so, why not donate to Walk for Me? By making a donation of your choice to 'Walk for Me', a volunteer will complete the 7 km route on your behalf and wear a heart on their sleeve showing your loved one's name. You will also be sent a photo after the event.
While the event will continue if rain occurs, should there be thunder and lightning predicted, the event may be cancelled. If predictions indicate this is a possibility, please check the Facebook page for further information.
