Would you walk two kilometres for coffee?
Dicky Beach Walk to Currimundi Lake

The sun is shining but there is a cool wind blowing from the south, so to enjoy the sun without the wind we decided to walk the track from Dicky Beach to Currimundi Lake.

The track itself is just over 2km each way, but it is a very pleasant walk along the paths, boardwalks and over bridges.

Bridges cross 2 tidal creeks and the paths and boardwalks take you through some wetland areas and natural bush.

Along the way you are never too far from the beach and you catch glimpses of the shimmering blue water when you pass the beach access tracks.

When you reach Currimundi Lake, there are two cafes that tempt you with their strong coffee smells wafting in the air. It is always quite busy at the lake, so walking is a great option. There are great facilities on the lake edge including a children's playground, toilet blocks and covered barbecue areas.

Currimundi Lake is always beautiful

After our caffeine fix we head back to Dicky Beach, but this time, as the tide is out, we stroll back along the beach, enjoying the sun warming our backs - such a nice way to spend a leisurely morning.

1. Drive to Dicky Beach and start your walk from there.
2. Don't forget hats and sunscreen
3. Bring your camera
4. Take some money for coffee and refreshments at Currimundi
5. Walk around the lake before you leave.
