Step out of your comfort zone
2016 heralds the eighth year of Hutt St Centre's annual event: Walk A Mile In My Boots. Held in the first full week of August, Walk A Mile In My Boots raises public awareness of homelessness as part of National Homelessness Prevention Week (01/08/2016-07/08/2016).

Hutt St Centre is a frontline agency for homeless and vulnerable people recent reports have found that an estimated 6,000 people in South Australia are currently experiencing homelessness. This year's event is aiming to recruit 6,000 registered participants to Walk A Mile In My Boots 'because no person who is homeless should feel like they're walking alone'.

Walk A Mile In My Boots aims to provide registered participants with a glimpse of what it's like for some people facing homelessness who are constantly walking a mile or more - in rain, hail or shine 'to find something to eat, a hot shower and a friendly face'.

This year, Hutt St Centre will host two Walk A Mile In My Boots events in two different locations.

Your Comment
The Coast to Vines Rail Trail is a lovely walk. Hardly a hardship at all to support homeless people.
