I love connecting with community, following years of travel to far away places. I believe in sustainability. Intuitive dance, and mind/body practices keep me blissfully healthy. Hoping to share unique people's stories with you.
Wakefield House 25 year anniversary Fete this weekend
If you love books, gardens, preloved and garage sales, then Wakefield House and the City of Onkaparinga have the perfect place for you to be on Saturday, October 25th between 10am and 2pm. To celebrate Wakefield House's 25th Anniversary, they are holding a family Fete day with lots to do for all ages.
Wakefield House Positive Aging Centre is a fun space for the community with activities all week. Opportunities to learn new things such as card making, computing, and pottery make Wakefield House an important place for many who come to meet friends and keep active.
Their family Fete will give access to view the kitchen garden, purchase bric-a-brac, and enjoy a sausage sizzle or Devonshire Tea.
Traditional Devonshire tea is always a refreshing treat
And one of the most exciting stalls will be the entire current library of books, which are being sold to make way for an entire collection of new books. Annique Jones of Wakefield House is excited to be offering the library's current collection for ridiculously low prices. "Some are as low as 20 books for $5!"
Painted faces add to the colour of the fete
Expect face painting for kids, and a caricature artist to keep both children and adults entertained.
The SA Metropolitan Fire Service will be there with a bright shiny red fire truck for children to enjoy, and for all to learn from in readiness for a typically blazing South Australian summer.

Local artist creates hand made teddy bears
As an added bonus, Wakefield House's 25th Anniversary Family Fete Day coincides with City of Onkaparinga's biggest ever Garage Sale Trail, described as 'Australia's fastest people powered program that's about sustainability, creativity and fun.
A local choir will perform at 11am. An artist with hand-made teddy bears could create your ideal plush friend. Other crafters display their skill at designing bags out of recycled goods. So the 25th Anniversary celebrations are joined by hundreds of thousands of Australians across the country involved in reducing, reusing, recycling, and repurposing waste to slow landfill buildup in Australia.
Come and get your books, preloved goods, cakes, and crafts, and enjoy a morning of great fun at Wakefield House 25th Anniversary Family Fete Day at 65 Acre Ave, Morphett Vale this Saturday, October 25 until 2pm.
