Located at the southern end of Mimosa Rocks National Park is the Wajurda Point Lookout offering spectacular coastal views.

The walking track to the lookout is an easy and flat walk of around 450 metres from the car park.

Make sure you keep an eye out for wildlife on this track. We were surprised to discover a red-bellied black snake sunning himself in the foliage just on the side of the track.

Working under the assumption that he was more scared of us than we were of him, we carefully and quietly tip-toed past him on the other side of the walking track before he slithered away in to the bush.

Along the way to the lookout, you will see tantalising glimpses of the water, beach and headland through the trees.

The lookout is located at the edge of the cliff and offers views to Baronda Head in the north, Nelson Beach and the inlet of Nelson Lagoon to the west.

It is a great place to get a bird's eye view of this part of the National Park and to enjoy those incredible views of the rugged coastline. From September to November it is also a great vantage point to do some whale watching.

To get to the Wajurda Point Walking Track, turn off the Tathra - Bermagui Road at Nelson Lake Road. It is just over 2km from the turnoff to the car park for Wajurda Point.

Other places of interest nearby include Moon Bay and Nelson Beach and Lagoon.
