You're on holiday, you've lazed around the beach or pool all day and its time to get something to eat. But rather than a standard cafe, you are looking for something a bit wackier, a bit zany, crazy, out of the ordinary.
Where to go in bali?We would love to hear some of the funny places you've dined and why they are wacky.
To get the ball rolling here are some of my choices:
1. Dine in a tent
Set in the beautiful rice fields of Ubud, you will find the Pomegranate restaurant and cafe. The menu is fairly small compared to some others around Bali, but the atmosphere certainly makes up for it.
Click here for more details on this restaurant.
What's wacky about the Pomegranate? For a start just getting there is a wild ride. Friends of mine ended up in the mud in the rice fields on their motorbike just getting here. It is a large circus inspired tent / tee-pee. You sit on the floor on large cushions, watch the sunset and as night falls and there is the play of fireflies across the rice fields; it's very romantic and lots of fun.
2. Be ushered in by monsters:In seminyak you may encounter ghouls, zombies and the living dead dragging you in to Frankensteins Laboratory. At around 8.30pm, there is a floor show with the undead dancers, drinks are served in IV bags or syringes and you can have your face or body made up to look like you just walked out of a movie set

3. High tea with what?Biku has become somewhat of an institution in Petitinget (Seminyak). It is set in a rustic joglo (Javanese wooden house). They serve traditional English high tea with towering stands and lovely cakes and desserts. But what really makes this place wacky for me is the towels afterwards.
You can read more about this here.
4. Take afternoon tea in an English Convent:Well kind of, Gardin may be as close to this as you are going to get in Bali.
