Over lockdown, you probably did what most people did and started to get into jigsaw puzzles. If you managed to complete at least a couple of 1000 piece puzzles, then you may think you're a Jigsaw Champion. Well, not so fast. There are some people out there who can complete a puzzle in less than an hour and can even do so under pressure. It's less of a relaxing pastime when you're doing it against the clock but at the same time, if you can complete a jigsaw within a timed event, you can win money if you do so at the .

This is open to both groups and individuals who think they have what it takes. If you have a group of 4 puzzle lovers, you will have two hours to complete a 500 piece puzzle fastest. If you think you can take on 500 pieces on your own, then you will have three hours to complete the jigsaw. There will be prizes for first, second and third, as well as spot prizes too. If you are in a team, you can give yourselves a clever team name too. You can have these suggestions for free. Consider calling yourselves the Missing Piece or We Come in Pieces.

Although it doesn't sound like much of a spectator sport, it will be incredible to watch people whacking the pieces into place at breakneck speed. You can cheer on friends and family if you aren't competing in the current competition, but you do have to buy a ticket to enter, so you might as well give it a go!

You don't have to have any experience with puzzle completion, but almost everyone has at least tried doing a jigsaw at some point. It costs $30 per person to compete, but if you're in a team of 4, then it's $100 for all four of you. Competing in both divisions gives you the best chance of winning, and if you don't happen to complete the puzzle, then your ranking is determined by how many pieces are left in the box. Before the competition begins, you can't open the box.

If you want to take on this challenge, then you will want to head to Government House on Saturday 15th of April between 10am to 12pm (for teams) or 1pm to 4pm (for individuals). Compete on the day and find your inner piece.
