How to Get the Most Out of Your WA Seniors Card

Once we reach the age of 61, we can apply to get a [b]WA Seniors Card[/b]. In some cases, this will give seniors a discount on utility bills, so it is worth checking, as some of the discounts are quite substantial. Discounts may apply to:
Council rates
Water rates
Electricity
Vehicle License
Drivers license
Free off-peak travel
Regional transport

The Art Gallery of Western Australia charges for entry to some major exhibitions and when a Companion Card is presented, the companion will be issued with a second ticket free of charge.

[b]WEST AUSTRALIAN MARITIME MUSEUM**
The Maritime Museum is the only Western Australian Museum site that charges for admission. When you have a Seniors Card, you will receive 50% off the entry fee to the Museum, unless it is the second Tuesday of the month when admission to the Museum is free. Fees still apply to enter the submarine exhibition and some temporary exhibitions.

The WA Spectacles Subsidy Scheme allows you to receive a maximum of $53.85 on the purchase of a complete pair of prescribed spectacles or contact lenses. This assistance is available once every two years, subject to eligibility criteria.

All domestic cats and dogs are required to be registered with the relevant Local Government and with your seniors card, you can apply for a 50% discount on registration fees.
