A perfect partnership of bovine and breweries
Beer and beef are no strangers to each other, having been perfectly paired up for generations, and this year, Western Australians have four whole days to enjoy this tasty partnership.
The WA Beer and Beef Festival returns to Elizabeth Quay from Friday, 22nd September to Monday, 25th September for a long weekend of all things bovine and brewski.
This year's festival promises to be an epic celebration of the amber ale, with over 75 different brews from 20 local, interstate and international breweries setting up shop. Wet your whistle with local favourites Gage Roads, Mash Brewing and Little Creatures, or sample something a little different from boutique breweries La Sirene, Rocky Ridge Brewing or Modus Operandi, plus so many more. Have a go at a beer masterclass or make your way around the breweries with a $20 tasting card (provides 10 x 120ml tasting cups.)
Then of course, there's the beef. Get to know some of Perth's favourite restaurants and innovative food trucks including Varsity Bar (best cheeseburgers going around) Porkies BBQ, Stables Bar and Smokin' BBQ Bus. See cooking demonstrations and learn how to grill, smoke or simmer your favourite beef dish to perfection.
The WA Beer and Beef Festival will open on Friday, 22nd September from 4pm to 10pm. The Saturday and Sunday events will run from 11am to 10pm, while the Monday session will take place between 11am to 6pm.
Families are welcome to bring children to the festival, and under 18s are free to enter, although they must be supervised at all times. Leave the car at home and catch the train to Elizabeth Quay station, or hop on the ferry from South Perth.
General admission ticket prices are as follows and include a large drink token: Friday, 22nd September $20 Saturday, 23rd and Sunday, 24th September $30 (entry between 11am and 10pm) Saturday, 23rd and Sunday, 24th September $20 (entry between 5pm and 10pm) Monday, 25th September $15
There are also VIP Tickets available from $85. The Masterclasses are additional to ticket prices. Come along and sample some of Perth's finest beers and beef and appreciate this pairing just that little bit more.
