Swim, play, and relax at Thompson's Beach and WH Yeo Park
Thompson's Beach and W.H. Yeo Park which runs along its foreshore are a popular destination for families with kids, and for people who enjoy watersports such as kayaking and kite surfing.

Thomson's Beach has a large, shallow intertidal zone. Such beaches are perfect for young children as the water is usually very calm.

Unlike many beaches along Redlands Coast, Thompson's Beach is sandy - perfect for digging and sandcastles! There are also often hordes of soldier crabs making their way along the beach that many kids find fascinating.

A paved, shared bicycle and pedestrian path runs along the top of the foreshore, with W.H. Yeo Park directly behind it. This park has a range of equipment for families, including toilets with showers, and a beach shower outside the toilet block.

Starting from the carpark, there is a fully fenced playground for younger children. This playground has ample shade, benches for adults to relax on, and pool fencing with gates to keep children safe.

Further along, there is more playground equipment for older kids including swings, slides, climbing equipment, and balance challenges. There is also a basketball hoop between the playgrounds.

W.H.Yeo Park has a number of picnic areas, some under trees and others under constructed shelters with BBQs. The Redland City Council is currently installing two more of these shelters.

There are a number of disabled car parking spaces, and others set aside for parents with prams. The Mobile Library visits this car park between 9am and 12:30pm on Tuesdays and has free WiFi available for patrons.
