Brunch in the city. Vons is one of those nice little cafes by day, restaurant/bar by night establishments. Pleasant wooden flooring interior, while the shaded outside seating area provides a relaxed setting. The menu features an array of breakfast/brunch favourites and Mediterranean infused lunch choices.

After much deliberation for brunch the following was chosen:




My fellow diners were happy with the above. The plating was the most interesting aspect for me. For those of you unfamiliar with the culinary show lingo that means how the food is presented/ arranged on its plate. I'd chosen the brekky burger with a sauce change to tartare sauce. There was no kidding myself with the cutlery - all hands on deck. The egg was slightly scolding so I had to let it drop out while I was eating the main burger and go back to it later.


Tasty, full of flavour and just enough kick to make breakfast seem not so boring after all. Definitely for those who prefer a hearty breakfast. Free drinks were included and either the outside seating area was a great place to catch up with friends or I brought the right friends to brunch.

**Experience Summary:

Service – 4 stars; good service except for a habit of over-asking 'if the food was good'. That is slightly off-putting as I started wondering if there was something I should be worried about.

Atmosphere – 4 stars; the outdoor area was a nice place to chat with friends, I can't comment on the indoor seating.

Food – 4 stars; I liked how they gave a few dishes a new twist and the food came out very hot.
