Monika's Doggie Rescue is a volunteer-run no-kill shelter that saves and re-homes as many dogs as they can from council pounds. The shelter houses over 200 dogs who are all searching for new homes. In the mean time, these dogs are in need of walks and plenty of cuddles.
To become a volunteer dog walker, simply turn up to the Ingleside shelter, show the friendly staff your photo ID and complete a registration form. Under 18's need to be accompanied by an adult. From there, you will be introduced to a four-legged friend. The dogs are really enthusiastic about being walked and with names like Casper, Taco and Chevy, you can tell the dogs have plenty of personality.
Ingleside is a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Volunteers are encouraged to walk the dogs along the quiet roads surrounding the shelter. Walks last for around 30 minutes - with the option for you to take another dog for a walk once your first dog has been returned.
Volunteer dog walkers include people of all types - from families to individuals, young couples to small groups of friends.
