Switzerland is famous for chocolate, watches, its banking system, and political neutrality. But its most famous recent export is undoubtedly the king of the courts, Roger Federer. Federer, a seventeen times Grand Slam title winner, has just signed on to play in Queensland's premier tennis tournament, the Brisbane International , from 29 December 2013 to 5 January 2014. This is big news in the tennis world , but what is a little less well known is that you can see Federer up close and personal, along with a host of other tennis big names, and it won't cost you a cent.

The organisers of the Brisbane International are currently seeking applications for volunteers in a range of different roles. This is your chance to be involved in a world class sporting event, have some fun, and maybe get a few autographs to add to your collection. The Brisbane International at the Queensland Tennis Centre is one of the major lead-up tournaments to the Australian Open, attracting some of the sport's major stars in recent years. The winners of the 2013 tournament were this year's Wimbledon champion, Andy Murray, and Serena Williams, herself a sixteen time singles Grand Slam tournament champion.

Volunteer roles are offered in the areas of Information Services, Transport, Ushering, Court Services, Player Services, Corporate Services, Tournament Runners, Accreditation, and Tennis Activities. You could find yourself conducting visitor surveys, ushering visitors throughout the complex, delivering on-court supplies, providing information, assisting corporate clients, helping out in the Kids Zone, transporting players, guests and officials, or helping with accreditation.

Organisers are looking for people who can exemplify their values of high service excellence, integrity and teamwork. If you're currently studying event management or sports management this is something that will look really good on your resume. The rest of us will be able to boast to our friends. You can access information about the specific roles here and apply online here . You'll be asked to nominate 3 functional areas you'd like to work in. There are additional requirements for those wishing to be drivers.

What are you waiting for? Don't miss your opportunity to see arguably the best tennis player ever. Sharpen up that resume and submit your application soon. Applications close at 11:30pm sharp (AEST) on Sunday 11 August 2013.
