[ADVERT]Say the word "sustainability" to a crowd of people, and I think half of them would be asleep within 30 seconds. But there is no reason why the topic should be boring, despite the jargon some people use.
Sustainability is just about living smarter. It's about using less. Re-using more. Saving resources. Saving money for you and the community.
Mitcham sustainability groups and the City of Mitcham are holding a free Sustainable Communities Fair promoting sustainable living. It will be an entertaining day for all the family with over 50 stalls, presentations, workshops, fun activities for children, interesting food and entertainment.
You will be able to learn how to reduce the use of energy, water and resources, minimise waste and how to design to include sustainable principles.
Bring the kids along so they can see what types of interesting creatures live in the local creeks, and stimulate their minds with cool arts and craft activities. They will love the free face painting and be amazed when they touch creepy crawly insects, scales, tails and fur.
The Fair is being held at the Mitcham Cultural Village, a heritage site redeveloped to include smart environmental design, and you will be able to relax in the open courtyard and enjoy a coffee, gelati or a tasty meal, while being entertained by local dance and musical performances.
There will be free off street car and bicycle parking, and disability access.
James from Smooth Revolution will be here giving out FREE SMOOTHIES from 11am until 1pm, or until they run out. Come and experience the fantastic flavours of these healthy and organic smoothies while you are at the Fair.
