Alfresco dining at its best
Paradise Found …

After a busy flight from Brisbane to Cairns, we were ready to unwind in the splendour of Tropical North Queensland. Where better than Palm Cove to feel the sand between your toes? Driving into Palm Cove, we discovered Vivo, all crisp with resort-style, alfresco dining set amongst the palms overlooking the beach and cove.

Coconut palms, lapping ocean, a sea breeze; we had arrived and were on holiday in our tropical paradise. Coffee was all we had time for on our first visit, however, with friendly service, a menu to mull over and great coffee, we vowed to return. We were easily accommodated both times with no booking, although bookings are recommended.

Vivo's casual dining area, its breathtaking outlook and tempting menu, both breakfast and all-day dining, drew us back. The lunchtime serving of Crab Tagliarini was an ideal choice on a tropical humid day. The light pasta ribbons were complemented with sweet crab meat and fresh plump cherry tomatoes.

We also ordered Nasi Goering, which was a welcome touch of spice, with peanut salad mixed with a fried egg, prawns, and a sprinkling of chicken. A tropical blending of seafood and meat with rice.

The menu is extensive to tempt every taste with light choices alongside more substantial options of Black Angus Fillet, Slow Roasted Lamb Shoulder and Yellow Fin Tuna. The cocktail menu was too exciting to pass on with classics alongside cooling concoctions to beat the heat.
