This May and June Vivid Sydney invites guests to step into the world of scientific discovery as Taronga Zoo once again hosts their immensely popular Lights For The Wild night-time precinct. Vivid at Taronga Zoo will be shining a light on conservation and wonderful wildlife, as they construct a spectacular display of illumination and colour through a menagerie of creative light sculptures. Many of the crowd favourites will be back this year, along with a new collection awe-inspiring interactive animal art.
This year's Vivid at Taronga will provide some unique new additions, including a marine world where guests can meet a number of New South Wales' most endangered aquatic creatures. Explorers will also get to walk through the mouth of a giant Port Jackson Shark as it emerges from the famous Taronga Zoo heritage entrance. Revellers will also be able to hike through the illuminated Sumatran jungle to encounter more ferocious endangered animals, before being welcomed into the Taronga Centenary Theatre to view an award-winning animated film. The movie will be presented as a 270-degree cinematic experience where guests will be consumed by the wonders of the wild.
Adventurers will also be able to enjoy a well-earned rest at the Taronga Food Market, beneath a kaleidoscope of stars and a glowing planet earth as imagined by young artists. From here guests will be able to embark on a voyage through the glowing Australian bushscape appreciating native treasures. Every unique installation and light sculpture will tell a story about wildlife conservation, which should provide guests with an illuminating experience. Explorers on each night will also discover information about each of these wondrous animals, in addition to learning how Taronga Zoo is working to save 10 species from extinction over the next 10 years.
