The full program for the Vivid Sydney - A Festival of Light, Music & Ideas , a four week event, was announced this week and it has many sydneysiders excited. Running from May 27th to June 13th, 2011, there are many anticipated events to pick from, including a pretty spectacular music line-up. Highlights include the brilliant, award-winning Bat For Lashes (aka Natasha Khan), performing two special concerts at the Sydney Opera House.

It is the first time Bat For Lashes will be visiting our shores, and while it has been said she will perform exclusively at the Sydney Opera House, she has hinted to #1 ">Triple J , that there may be other gigs. Given that Bat For Lashes has had two successful albums, the debut Fur and Gold in 2006 and Two Suns in 2009, the concerts are sure to be major attractions of the upcoming festival.

Another very special event at the Sydney Opera House is Chris Cunningham Live. Cunningham is a visionary filmmaker and he has created some of the most iconic music videos in recent times, including Aphex Twin's "Come to Daddy" and "Windowlicker" and Björk's "All Is Full of Love."

Besides directing music videos, Cunningham has also directed experimental short films and created a range of video art installations. Music is also another of Cunningham's passions, and the upcoming Sydney Opera House performance will feature Cunningham's own compositions. Cunningham has performed this special show across Europe, and it is sure to be a hit in Sydney also.

Other music highlights include Architecture In Helsinki , Cut Copy , Tame Impala and OFWGKTA (Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All), all performing special concerts at the Sydney Opera House. The full music program can currently be viewed at the Vivid Sydney website .

However Vivid Sydney is not just for adults, kids will be able to see the popular Yo Gabba Gabba! gang live on stage at the Sydney Opera House.

There are also other family activities, including interactive light art installations and a Fire Dance spectacular at Campbell's Cove.

The festival program also includes a range of workshops and lectures . You can see the entire program on the Vivid Sydney website .

The Vivid Sydney Festival is curated by Stephen Pavlovic of Modular. Keep up to date with all the events of Vivid Sydney with Facebook , Twitter and Youtube .

Tickets for the various events will go on sale Monday 4th April.
