Climb the Harbour Bridge and dance at the top
The VIVID Night Time Climb will happen only during VIVID Sydney.
What an exciting event this promises to be. If you have never climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge, this is the perfect opportunity as it will be spectacular! You will be able to watch Sydney come alive while enjoying the light installations around Sydney Harbour from a unique vantage point.
You will be wearing your flashing VIVID Climb Vest, as you climb the Bridge. This will of course happen above the bright, bold and beautiful VIVID Lights. You will dance under the stars on the illuminated 70's style multi-coloured and flashing dance floor!
Facts about the Climb The climb will last about 3˝ hours and there is a maximum of 14 people per group. You will follow the standard Bridge Climb route to the summit. Then you can do your dance routines under the stars at the top of the Bridge!
This special event will be available for Night Climbs only, during VIVID SYDNEY 2018
PRE-CLIMB CHECKLIST Because safety is so important for this event, you will be equipped with all the outdoor gear you'll need for your climb. This will be based on the day's weather conditions and the Health & Safety Essentials.
Your health and safety is important and pre-existing conditions must be declared. You will be asked to fill in a "BridgeClimb Declaration Form" before your Climb. You need to ensure that you have eaten before your climb and that you are well-hydrated.
You will need to wear comfortable, enclosed rubber-soled shoes such as running, sport or hiking shoes. PVC and leather-soled shoes are not ideal. All the gear for climbing will be supplied for you.
You will be provided with a personal locker so you will be able to put your personal belongings in these. These will include phones and cameras. The Climb Leaders will be taking photos of you during your climb. V
ideo technology, cameras and mobile devices will not be allowed for safety and security reasons. Each climber receives one free group photo as part of the experience. The climbs operate in all weather conditions. If it is raining, you will be equipped with special rain gear.
Who Can Climb
Anyone who is generally fit and healthy, 8 years and older and 1.2 metres in height is able to do this climb. To participate you need to have a general level of health and fitness and the ability to climb independently.
If you are over the age of 75, you can climb with a Certificate of Fitness signed by your GP. If you have a fear of heights or are apprehensive, the team specialise in supporting and enabling you to overcome your fears to climb to the top of Bridge.
Costs for this special event are: Adults - $263 to $278 and children - $183 to $198.
